TC GIRLS BASKETBALL BEATS SOUTHWESTERN IN COUNTY TOURNEY OPENER. Triton Central’s varsity girls basketball team opened the 50th Shelby County Tournament in emphatic fashion Thursday night, rolling past Southwestern 66–10 in first-round action at Waldron. Maryrose Felling led all scorers with 27 points. Quinn King added 11 points, while Kate Collier chipped in nine and Layla Compton finished with seven. Triton Central showcased its depth as well, with Ryn West scoring four points and Rylee Pruitt, Lexi Eubanks, Anna Kemper, and Eliana Joy each contributing two. The win improves Triton Central’s record to 11–3 on the season and sends the Tigers to the championship game of the Shelby County Tournament in search of their 39th title. Triton Central will face Morristown on Saturday night at Waldron, with the county title on the line. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM.
