TC BOYS BASKETBALL SWEEPS SCECINA. Triton Central’s varsity boys basketball team earned a hard-fought home victory Wednesday night, holding off Scecina 48–44 in a tightly contested matchup. The Tigers jumped out to a narrow 14–13 lead after the first quarter, but Scecina answered to take a 22–16 advantage into halftime. Triton Central regrouped in the third quarter, flipping the momentum with a 19-point frame to take a 35–30 lead heading into the final period. From there, the Tigers made the plays they needed down the stretch to seal the four-point win. Eli Sego led all scorers with 21 points, while Jackson Faust added 14. Brayden Hoover and Conner McClure each scored four points, Brody Hartman finished with three, and Henry Kemper chipped in two. With the victory, Triton Central improves to 10–2 on the season. In the junior varsity contest, Triton Central pulled away in the second half to defeat Scecina 60–37. After a close first half, the Tigers erupted for 19 points in the third quarter to take control of the game. Landon Bailey paced the JV squad with 21 points, while Chace Calderone added 10. Dominic Moore scored eight, Owen Hornberger finished with five, and Conner Eubanks and Jackson Ratliff each added four. Julius Schlottmann, Dylan Showalter, Austin McVey, and Hudson Reichanadter rounded out the scoring with two points apiece. The TC JV team is now 8–2 on the year. Triton Central will be back home Friday night to host Heritage Christian. The junior varsity game is set for 6 PM, followed by the varsity contest at 7:30 PM.
