TC BOYS BASKETBALL BEATS BEECH GROVE TO STAY UNBEATEN IN HLC, SEGO BREAKS CAREER MARK. It was another historic night for Triton Central senior Eli Sego on Friday, as the Tigers defeated Beech Grove 57-45 in Hoosier Legends Conference action and Sego became the program’s all-time leading scorer. With the win, Triton Central improves to 18-3 overall and remains unbeaten in conference play at 4-0. The Tigers came out sharp defensively, racing to a 15-5 lead after the first quarter. TC maintained control in the second period, taking a 22-15 advantage into halftime before extending the margin to 41-29 by the end of the third quarter. Sego poured in 27 points to lead all scorers. With his 20th point of the night, he surpassed the previous Triton Central career scoring record of 1,553 points set by Wyatt Felling. The milestone adds to what has already been a record-breaking senior campaign for Sego. Brody Hartman and Brayden Hoover each contributed seven points, while Conner McClure added five. Jackson Faust and Grant Long chipped in four points apiece to round out the scoring effort. JV Tigers Earn Convincing Win The junior varsity squad also picked up a victory, defeating Monrovia 49-33 to move to 13-6 on the season. Triton Central built a 31-9 halftime lead after a dominant second quarter and never looked back. Chace Calderone led the JV effort with 12 points, while Dominic Moore added nine and Owen Hornberger scored eight. Conner Eubanks finished with five points, Landon Bailey added four, Hudson Reichanadter scored three, and Julius Schlottmann chipped in two. The Tigers return to action Friday night when they host Speedway in a Hoosier Legends Conference matchup on Senior Night. JV tips off at 6 PM, followed by varsity at 7:30 PM. With a win over Speedway, Triton Central would complete a perfect 5-0 run through conference play and claim the inaugural Hoosier Legends Conference championship outright.
