TC BASEBALL FALLS TO TRI-WEST IN FIRST ROAD GAME. Triton Central dropped its Hoosier Legends Conference matchup Wednesday night, falling 12-2 on the road at Tri-West. The Tigers struck first, pushing across a run in the top of the first inning, but Tri-West answered immediately with two runs in the bottom half and never looked back. The Bruins added another run in the second before breaking the game open with a seven-run fourth inning. They tacked on two more runs in the fifth to secure the run-rule victory. Triton Central managed just three hits on the night. Weston Smith led the way with a double and an RBI, while Brayden Hoover and Brody Hartman each added a hit. The Tigers’ other run came in the fifth inning as they tried to chip away at the deficit. On the mound, Brayden Hoover worked three innings, allowing six runs (three earned) while striking out five. Cooper Alford tossed 1.2 innings and allowing six runs (two earned). Defensively, Triton Central committed four errors, which contributed to several unearned runs for Tri-West. The Bruins capitalized throughout the night, using timely hitting and patience at the plate to build their lead. With the loss, Triton Central falls to 0-3 on the season and 0-2 in Hoosier Legends Conference play. The Tigers will be back in action Friday night as they travel to Shelbyville for a 5:30 PM first pitch.
