TC BASEBALL FALLS ON THE ROAD AT SHELBYVILLE. Triton Central dropped its road matchup Friday night, falling 12-2 to Shelbyville in a shortened contest. The Tigers were held scoreless through the first four innings before breaking through with two runs in the fifth. However, Shelbyville had already built a commanding lead, scoring four runs in the second and third innings, followed by two runs in both the fourth and fifth to secure the run-rule victory. Offensively, Triton Central finished with four hits. Bo West led the way with a double and two RBIs, accounting for both Tiger runs. Rylan Anderson, Janssen Capps, and Weston Smith each added a hit, while Andrew Berry scored a run after reaching base. On the mound, Nash Durbin pitched two innings and allowing six runs (three earned). The Tigers used several pitchers, including Brody Hartman, Weston Smith, Ty Bergman, and Cooper Alford, but Shelbyville continued to capitalize, finishing with 12 runs on eight hits. Defensively, Triton Central committed four errors. With the loss, Triton Central falls to 0-4 on the season. The Tigers return to action Tuesday night when they return home to face Beech Grove. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
