TC TRACK & FIELD COMPETE AT HOME INVITE. Triton Central track & field delivered another impressive showing Friday night, competing against a deep field of seven teams at its home invitational. Both the boys and girls squads finished near the top of the standings, highlighted by multiple first-place performances. In the girls meet, North Decatur claimed the team title with 154 points, while Triton Central followed closely in second with 135. Indianapolis Lutheran (86), South Ripley (65), Greenwood Christian (60), and Herron rounded out the field. The Tigers were fueled by several standout efforts. Layla Compton sprinted to a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash, while Ryn West continued her strong season by winning the long jump. Triton Central also dominated on the track in relay events, capturing first place in the 4x100-meter relay with a team of Kaylynn Tremblett, Ryn West, Aubrie Propp, and Compton. A second relay group featuring Compton, Propp, West, and Bella Ball also turned in a winning performance, showcasing the Tigers’ depth and speed. On the boys side, Herron narrowly edged Triton Central for the team championship, scoring 139 points to the Tigers’ 130. North Decatur finished third with 91 points, followed by Indianapolis Lutheran (76), Greenwood Christian (64), and South Ripley (55). Triton Central’s boys were led by another dominant performance from Zeke Robertson, who swept both hurdle events with first-place finishes in the 110-meter high hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. Robertson also played a key role in two winning relay teams. The 4x100-meter relay squad of Robertson, Landon Slone, Judea Holt, and Braden Brown raced to a first-place finish, while the 4x400-meter relay team of Liam Thompson, Slone, Henry Kemper, and Robertson closed out the night with another victory. The Tigers will be back in action Friday night as they travel to compete in the Park Tudor Small School Showcase, with events set to begin at 6 PM.
