TC SOFTBALL SCORES 18 RUNS IN CONFERENCE WIN AGAINST BEECH GROVE. Triton Central softball delivered its most complete performance of the season Tuesday night, erupting for an 18-8 victory over Beech Grove Hornets softball in Hoosier Legends Conference action. The offensive showcase was powered by a huge night from Elly May, who blasted two home runs and drove in four runs to lead the Triton Central Tigers softball. Triton Central wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning when May launched a two-run home run to center field. The Tigers continued to apply pressure in the second, taking a 5-2 lead after Lily Sheler crushed a home run to left. The game turned into an offensive battle early, but Triton Central seized control in the third inning. The Tigers erupted for six runs on six hits, highlighted by May’s second home run of the night—another two-run shot to center—giving TC a 11-7 advantage. The Tigers weren’t done. In the sixth inning, Triton Central broke the game wide open with seven more runs. Marissa Williams delivered a two-run single, Makinah Noel added a two-run double, Mallory Diehl drove in a run with a single, and Kimiko Keith capped the rally with an RBI triple. In the circle, Hailey Cooper earned the win with a strong relief outing, allowing just one run (none earned) on two hits over 3 1/3 innings while striking out five. Riley Sheler started the game, and despite early challenges, the Tigers’ offense backed up the pitching staff in a big way. At the plate, Triton Central piled up 18 hits. Gabriella Hixson led the charge with a perfect 4-for-4 performance, while Avery Huffman and Ashlyn Hittle each added multiple hits in the win. With the win, TC improves to 2-4 on the year and 2-1 in the HLC. The Tigers will return to action Wednesday night for a rematch with Beech Grove on the road at 5:30 PM.
