TC BASEBALL BEATS #7 PARK TUDOR ON THE ROAD. Triton Central closed out the regular season on a high note Thursday night, defeating Park Tudor 4-2 on the road. The Tigers bounced back after allowing two runs in the first inning, responding with a run in the second and two more in the third to take the lead for good. Triton Central added an insurance run in the fourth and then relied on strong pitching and defense to shut down Park Tudor the rest of the way. Despite collecting just four hits, the Tigers made the most of their opportunities by drawing eight walks and taking advantage of two Park Tudor errors. Weston Smith led the offense with a 2-for-4 performance, scoring a run and driving in another. Kellan Dishman added a double and scored a run, while Kail Slaughter and Brody Hartman each drove in runs. Janssen Capps also contributed a hit and scored once. On the mound, Brody Hartman earned the win with a strong five-inning outing, allowing just two unearned runs on four hits while striking out three. Kellan Dishman closed the door over the final two innings, allowing no runs to earn the save. Defensively, the Tigers settled in after the opening inning and held Park Tudor scoreless over the final six frames. Triton Central committed two errors but worked around them behind solid pitching and timely defensive plays. With the win, Triton Central improves to 8-14 on the season heading into postseason play. The Tigers will open IHSAA Sectional #43 action Friday night at home against Indianapolis Lutheran. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
