TC BOYS TENNIS SWEEPS TRI-WEST. Triton Central boys tennis continued its strong season on Saturday, delivering a dominant performance in both varsity and junior varsity play against Tri-West. The Tigers rolled to a clean 5-0 sweep in varsity action before matching the feat with a 5-0 victory at the JV level. At the top of the varsity lineup, Janssen Capps set the tone with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 win over Tri-West’s Eric Dean at No. 1 singles. Fellow singles standouts Brayden Hoover and Bradyn Robinson followed suit, each dropping only two games on their way to straight-set victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. In doubles play, the Tigers stayed just as sharp. Max Crouse and Caleb McGuire powered past Landry Slagle and Michael Gibson 6-2, 6-1 at the top doubles spot, while Drayton Kermode and Graham Gast closed out the sweep with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Connor Smith and Colton Losh at No. 2 doubles. The junior varsity squad mirrored the varsity success, taking all five courts. Talan Canter battled to an 8-4 win at No. 1 singles, while Cash Eck and Colton Ayres were nearly flawless at Nos. 2 and 3, winning by scores of 8-0, 8-0. In doubles, Rylan Anderson and Owen Rice secured an 8-1 win at the top spot, and Jason Gregory and Brylon Scott finished the sweep with an 8-3 victory. The clean sweep improved Triton Central’s varsity record to 12-6 on the season.
