TC VOLLEYBALL TOPS SHELBYVILLE IN FOUR SETS. Triton Central’s varsity volleyball team bounced back after a tough second set to defeat Shelbyville 3-1 on Monday night at TC. The Tigers opened with a 25-21 win in the first set before the Golden Bears evened the match with a 25-12 victory in set two. Triton Central regained momentum in the third, edging Shelbyville 25-23, and then closed out the night with a convincing 25-17 finish. Several Tigers turned in strong performances. Ashlyn Hittle recorded 4 kills, Audrey Darlage tallied 18 assists, Gwyn Williams served up 5 aces, Addy Gibbs registered 5 blocks, and Kate Collier anchored the defense with 8 digs. With the win, the varsity squad improved to 12-5 on the season. In junior varsity action, Shelbyville earned a 2-0 victory. The Golden Bears took the first set 25-12 and outlasted the Tigers in a tight second set, 28-26. Adyson Wright led TC with 6 digs and 4 kills, while Ryn West added a block and Anna Kemper contributed 10 assists. The JV team is now 10-5 overall. Triton Central returns to action Wednesday night at home against Mt. Vernon (Fortville). JV begins at 6 PM, followed by varsity at 7 PM.
