TC VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO MT. VERNON. The Triton Central volleyball program battled Wednesday night at home, but both the varsity and junior varsity squads came up short against a strong Mt. Vernon team. In varsity action, the Tigers dropped a competitive three-set match, falling 25-19, 28-26, 25-19. Despite the loss, several Tigers turned in strong performances. Addy Gibbs anchored the defense at the net with four solo blocks, while setter Maryrose Felling guided the offense with 13 assists. Libero Alaina Darlage kept rallies alive with a team-high 17 digs, and Lucy May provided consistent attacking with eight kills. With the loss, Triton Central’s varsity record moves to 12-6 on the season. The JV contest followed a similar script, as the Tigers dropped two competitive sets, 25-19 and 25-20. Ryn West stood tall with a solo block, while Anna Kemper dished out 10 assists to spark the offense. Maecy Cord recorded four kills, and Keely O’Gara led the back row with 13 digs. The JV squad now sits at 10-6 overall. Both teams will be back in action tonight, traveling to Southwestern. The JV match is scheduled for 5:30 PM., followed by varsity at 6:30 PM.
