TC BOYS TENNIS SWEEPS FLOYD CENTRAL IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE. The Triton Central boys tennis team closed out its regular season in dominant fashion Monday night, sweeping Floyd Central 5-0 in varsity action and adding a 4-2 victory in the junior varsity match. The win improves the Tigers’ varsity record to 15-6 as they head into sectional play. At the top of the lineup, #1 singles player Janssen Capps set the tone with a convincing 6-1, 6-0 win over Blake Schuler. #2 singles standout Brayden Hoover battled through a three-set thriller, outlasting Joel Irwin 6-2, 4-6, 10-2, while #3 singles player Bradyn Robinson rallied after dropping the first set to defeat Sergio Periago 4-6, 6-2, 10-4. The Tigers were equally strong in doubles play. The #1 doubles team of Max Crouse and Caleb McGuire cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Kelton Granholm and Dane Kinnett, and the #2 doubles pairing of Graham Gast and Drayton Kermode followed with a commanding 6-3, 6-0 victory over Brent Townsend and Mack Brady to complete the sweep. In JV action, Triton Central earned a 4-2 win. Owen Rice and Brylon Scott notched singles victories, while doubles teams Talan Canter/Colton Ayres and Hyatt Watson/Jason Gregory picked up wins to seal the match. With the regular season complete, the Tigers turn their focus to postseason play. Triton Central opens sectional competition Wednesday against Waldron at Shelbyville High School, with play beginning at 5 PM.
