TC BOYS TENNIS SEASON COMES TO AN END IN SECTIONAL PLAY. The Triton Central boys tennis team saw its season come to an end Wednesday night in a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Waldron in the opening round of Sectional #24 at Shelbyville. The Mohawks claimed two singles points and one doubles match to secure the team victory, while the Tigers battled to take one singles and one doubles court. At No. 2 singles, Brayden Hoover delivered a strong performance for Triton Central, defeating Waldron’s Cash Young 6-3, 6-3 to give the Tigers their first point. Triton Central’s second win came from the No. 2 doubles team of Drayton Kermode and Graham Gast, who rallied after dropping the first set to earn a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 comeback victory over Owen Hartman and Noah Mitchell. Waldron’s Charlie Fischer set the tone at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Janssen Capps, while Lincoln Fischer followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles over Bradyn Robinson. The deciding point came at No. 1 doubles, where Caige Sheaffer and Jackson Kuhn outlasted Max Crouse and Caleb McGuire in a competitive 7-5, 6-1 match. With the loss, Triton Central concludes a successful season with a 15-7 overall record.
