TC VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO NEW PALESTINE; JV WINS. The Triton Central volleyball team ran into a tough New Palestine squad Wednesday night, falling in straight sets, 3-0. The host Dragons controlled the match from start to finish, winning by scores of 25-19, 25-14, and 25-17. Despite the loss, several Tigers turned in strong individual efforts. Gwyn Williams led the attack with 9 kills, while setter Maryrose Felling dished out 14 assists to pace the offense. Defensively, Alaina Darlage anchored the back row with 11 digs, and Savannah Plew provided a spark at the net with 2 solo blocks. With the loss, Triton Central’s varsity record moves to 15-8 on the season. In the junior varsity matchup, Triton Central rallied for an impressive 2-1 victory after dropping the opening set. The Tigers fell 25-20 in the first, then battled back to take the next two, 25-21 and 17-15, to secure the win. Adyson Wright delivered a strong serving performance with 4 aces, while setter Anna Kemper orchestrated the offense with 17 assists and added a solo block. Elly May powered the front line with 9 kills, and Keely O’Gara led the defense with 14 digs. The JV Tigers improved to 14-7 overall. Triton Central will return to action Monday when they host Eastern Hancock. The JV match begins at 6 PM, followed by the varsity contest at 7 PM.
