VOLLEYBALL @ SHELBY COUNTY TOURNAMENT (10/11)

TC VOLLEYBALL CAPTURES SHELBY COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP. The Triton Central volleyball team claimed the Shelby County Tournament championship on Saturday with a pair of dominant wins. In the opening match, the Tigers rolled past Waldron 25-5, 25-16, setting the tone for the day. Triton Central then swept Morristown 25-11, 25-8 in the championship round to secure the county title. Senior Gwyn Williams headlined the day, earning Shelby County Tournament MVP honors. Williams also made history, breaking the Triton Central school record for career service aces with 181 — surpassing the previous mark of 178 set by Julia Sanders (2018–21). With the county crown in hand, Triton Central improved to 20-8 on the season and now turns its focus to the postseason. The Tigers will open IHSAA Sectional #43 play against Eastern Hancock on Thursday at 6 PM, hosted by the Royals.
